APPOINTMENTS

Our approach to booking GP appointments has recently changed to a triage call-back system. Patients who feel they need to see a GP or Nurse Practitioner need to call the Practice on the day they feel they need to be seen. If our Reception team are unable to navigate you to the appropriate health professional, you will be added to the call-back list and a GP or Nurse Practitioner will call you back within 2 hours to discuss your problem. The GP/Nurse Practitioner will advise if a face-to-face appointment is necessary and agree a time that day to come to the Practice.

Further information about our triage appointment system can be found HERE in this patient leaflet.

It is important to emphasise that patients do not need to rush and call up as soon as the Practice is open to book appointments. The triage system we use allows better management of the demand throughout the day until 16:30. After 16:30 only emergency cases will be dealt with that day.

NEW: It is now possible to make an appointment online. To do this, you must go first to the surgery where you will be given a code name and a password. This can be used for both making appointments, viewing your medical records and for ordering repeat prescriptions.

Two types of appointments are bookable online currently:

  • INR/Warfarin blood tests (bookable up to 4 weeks in advance and only for patients taking Warfarin medication or those under the care of the anti-coagulation hospital team)
  • Telephone Triage appointment (on the day only)
use this option to request an appointment with a GP or Nurse Pracitioner on the day you feel you need to be seen.

Please telephone reception after 2.15pm if you are simply inquiring about the result of an investigation.
